The Complaints Process

BACP Complaints Information

The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) is the professional body with which I am registered. It sets ethical standards for counselling and psychotherapy and provides a formal complaints process for concerns about its members' professional conduct.

If you feel that your concerns have not been adequately addressed, you can contact BACP for independent information and guidance about its complaints procedure.

Talk to the therapist

If you have any concerns about your experience of therapy, please feel free to raise them with me. An open conversation can often help clarify misunderstandings and provide an opportunity to address any difficulties.

We'll Explore the Issue

Your concerns will be taken seriously and considered carefully, with an opportunity to discuss what has happened and how it has affected you. The aim is to understand the situation fully and explore a fair and appropriate way forward.

I'll Respond

Following our discussion, I will provide a thoughtful and clear response to your concerns, outlining any proposed steps towards resolving the issue. Where appropriate, this may include an explanation, clarification or changes to the way the service is provided.

If We Can't Resolve It

If your concerns cannot be resolved through discussion, you have the option to take your complaint further. As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am accountable to its professional standards. You may contact BACP for information about its complaints procedure and whether your concerns fall within its remit.

A Safe and Respectful Process

Raising a concern can sometimes feel difficult. At Maqsoud Psychotherapy & Wellbeing, every concern will be approached with sensitivity, fairness and respect. You can speak openly about your experience, knowing that your feedback will be taken seriously and handled in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
